How do I convert an Excel contact list to VCF?
Upload the .xlsx file (or a CSV saved from Excel or Google Sheets), check that the name, phone and email columns are mapped correctly, choose whether to format Pakistani numbers as +92 and merge duplicates, then click Download. You get one .vcf file containing every contact.
Why did only the first contact import on my phone?
Some apps only read the first card in a file that holds many. Outlook is the common case: Microsoft's own instructions convert a .vcf to CSV before importing into Outlook, so use the CSV for Outlook. Phones handle multi-contact files: on Android import it from the Contacts app (Organize, or Fix & manage on older versions, then Import from file), and on iPhone open it from Files or Mail and tap the option to add all contacts, or import it at iCloud.com. Files from this tool keep every contact in one correctly separated .vcf.
Why vCard 3.0 instead of 4.0?
vCard 3.0 is the version iPhone, Android and Google Contacts all import without trouble, and it is what Apple's Contacts app exports by default. 4.0 adds little for names, numbers and emails and is less widely supported by older phones and apps.
How does the +92 option change my numbers?
It treats numbers without a country code as Pakistani: 0300 1234567, 0300-1234567, 3001234567 and 923001234567 all become +923001234567, and landlines such as 042 35761234 become +924235761234. Numbers that already start with + or 00 and a different country code are not touched. Mobile numbers with the wrong number of digits are left as typed and listed so you can check them.
My Excel file shows 3001234567 instead of 03001234567. Is that a problem?
Excel removes the leading zero when a column is formatted as a number. With the +92 option on, a 10-digit number starting with 3 is recognised as a Pakistani mobile and saved as +923001234567, so the missing zero doesn't matter.
Can I convert a VCF file back to Excel?
Yes. Use the VCF to CSV tab: upload a .vcf from a phone backup, iCloud or Google Contacts and download a CSV with one row per contact and a column for each phone number and email. The CSV is saved as UTF-8 with a byte-order mark so Excel shows Urdu and other scripts correctly.
Does it work with old .xls files?
Not directly. It reads .xlsx and CSV. Open an .xls file in Excel or Google Sheets and save it as .xlsx or CSV UTF-8, then upload that.
Are my contacts uploaded to a server?
No. The spreadsheet is read and the .vcf is created by your browser on your own device. ToolsWebPro never receives the names, numbers or emails in the file.
